Tropical White Wine Sangria

Tropical White Wine Sangria

Tropical White Wine Sangria is a refreshing and vibrant summer drink that combines crisp white wine with a medley of tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple, orange, and lime. Perfectly chilled and optionally sparkling, this fruity sangria is easy to make, customizable, and ideal for parties, barbecues, or relaxing sunny afternoons.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, about 750ml)
  • 1 cup mango chunks (fresh, bite-sized)
  • 1 cup pineapple pieces (fresh, bite-sized)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced into wedges

Sweetener (optional)

  • 2 tbsp simple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)

Sparkling Additions (optional)

  • 1 cup soda water or sparkling water

Garnish

  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Wash all fresh fruits thoroughly. Peel and cut mango and pineapple into bite-sized chunks. Slice the orange and lime into thin wedges to help release their oils and acidity.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, add the mango chunks, pineapple pieces, orange slices, and lime wedges. Pour in the white wine and stir gently to mix flavors. If using simple syrup or honey, add now and stir until fully incorporated.
  3. Chill and Infuse: Refrigerate the sangria for at least 2 hours, preferably 4 hours or more, to allow the fruit flavors to fully infuse into the wine.
  4. Add Sparkle and Serve: Just before serving, top off the sangria with soda water or sparkling water for a light fizz. Pour the sangria over ice, garnish with fresh mint leaves, and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use ripe mangoes and pineapples for the best sweetness and flavor.
  • Chill the sangria thoroughly to allow optimal flavor melding.
  • Adjust the sweetness gradually to suit your preference.
  • Choose dry white wines like Pinot Grigio to keep the drink balanced and not overly sweet.
  • Thin citrus slices enhance flavor by releasing more oils and acidity.
  • Leftover sangria can be stored airtight in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but fizz will fade.
  • Do not freeze sangria as it affects texture and flavor negatively.
  • Serve cold; stir gently if too diluted or cold from melted ice.
