Reese’s Rudolph Bites

Reese’s Rudolph Bites are festive, easy-to-make holiday treats featuring creamy peanut butter cups decorated to resemble Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Combining the classic Reese’s peanut butter and chocolate flavor with pretzel antlers, red candy noses, and chocolate chip eyes, these bite-sized snacks bring joy and holiday spirit to any gathering. Perfect for sharing, customizable for dietary needs, and quick to prepare, they’re a delightful addition to your holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Core Ingredients

  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (quantity as desired, typically 12 cups)
  • Red Candy-Coated Chocolates (like M&Ms, 1 per Reese’s cup)
  • Pretzel Sticks (2 per Reese’s cup for antlers)
  • Mini Chocolate Chips (2 per Reese’s cup for eyes)

Optional Ingredients

  • White Candy Melts or White Chocolate (for drizzling or detailing, about 1/4 cup)
  • Optional Sprinkles or Edible Glitter (for festive decoration, quantity as desired)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace and Ingredients: Gather all ingredients and line a clean work surface with parchment paper to allow your treats to set properly, ensuring an organized and efficient process.
  2. Attach the Pretzel Antlers: Gently insert two pretzel sticks into the top sides of each Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup to resemble antlers. Press firmly yet carefully to avoid breaking the pretzels or cups.
  3. Add the Red Nose: Use a small dab of melted chocolate or peanut butter as edible glue to adhere one red candy-coated chocolate to the front center of each cup, creating Rudolph’s signature red nose.
  4. Create the Eyes: Place a small dot of melted chocolate on the backside of two mini chocolate chips and position them above the nose on each cup. Allow them to set for a minute to secure the eyes in place.
  5. Optional Decoration: If desired, drizzle melted white candy melts or white chocolate over the bites and sprinkle with sprinkles or edible glitter for extra festive flair. Let the decorations cool and set completely.
  6. Chill and Serve: Place the completed Reese’s Rudolph Bites in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to firm up. Once chilled, they are ready to serve, package, or gift.

Notes

  • Use room temperature peanut butter cups to prevent cracking when inserting pretzels.
  • Employ melted chocolate as edible glue for securing candy parts more effectively.
  • Work quickly after melting chocolate to prevent it from hardening before assembly.
  • Choose fresh, high-quality candies and pretzels for the best taste and appearance.
  • Store finished bites in the refrigerator to maintain their structure and freshness.
