Delicious Stuffed Mushroom Dip Recipe

This Delicious Stuffed Mushroom Dip is a creamy, savory appetizer perfect for parties or cozy snacks. It blends tender sautéed mushrooms with rich cheeses, fresh herbs, and aromatic garlic and onion to create a warm, comforting dip with a luxurious texture. Easy to make and customizable, it can be enjoyed hot or at room temperature alongside pita chips, toasted bread, or fresh veggies.

Ingredients

Scale

Mushrooms and Aromatics

  • 8 oz fresh white or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (for sautéing)

Dairy and Cheese

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasonings and Herbs

  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (for heat)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or thyme, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Clean and finely chop the mushrooms. Heat butter or olive oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms until they release their moisture and turn golden brown, developing a deep mushroom flavor.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the mushrooms. Cook until the onions are translucent and the mixture is fragrant, adding layers of flavor.
  3. Mix the Base Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth and creamy to form the dip’s rich base.
  4. Combine and Season: Fold the sautéed mushroom mixture into the cheese blend. Add salt, black pepper, optional red pepper flakes, and chopped fresh herbs. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute the flavors.
  5. Bake Until Bubbling: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the dip is hot and bubbling.

Notes

  • Use fresh mushrooms for best texture and flavor; avoid canned or frozen.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when sautéing mushrooms — cook in batches if necessary to ensure proper browning.
  • Let cream cheese soften at room temperature before mixing for a smoother dip.
  • Customize the cheese blend by trying mozzarella, Gouda, or vegan cheese alternatives.
  • Serve the dip warm for the best creamy texture; reheat gently if made ahead.
